Senior Capstone Project

Tightrope is a wellness-focused calendar web application developed for as a senior capstone project at the University of Nevada, Reno's Computer Science and Engineering department. This project was developed by a team of five software developers. I led the frontend development and was responsible for the user interface design. This project was built using Angular for the frontend and Django for the backend.

Going beyond traditional calendar functionality, Tightrope helps users maintain work-life balance through innovative stress monitoring and mindfulness features. The application includes a stress-tracking algorithm that analyzes users' schedules to generate a dynamic stress score, while also offering psychologically-backed mindfulness activities and streak tracking to encourage regular practice. Built with a modern, intuitive interface, Tightrope distinguishes between work, leisure, and mindfulness events, automatically adds mindfulness activities to the user’s calendar, and encourages the user to complete stress-relieving activities through the use of a streak system. The project exemplifies how thoughtful software design can promote mental wellbeing while maintaining robust productivity tools.
